Liquid Integral Water Proofing Compound for Concrete and Plasters
SPECIFICATION
ASTM C 494 IS 2645-75		 DESCRIPTION
 Plast - O - Proof is an integral water proofing compound ideal for use with both Concrete and Plasters.
Plast-O-Proof is based on specialised surfactants and synthetic resin which impart superior flow and cohesive properties in concrete and mortars. Use of integral water proofing compounds in concrete and mortar is one of the precautions taken to achieve a waterproof concrete or plaster.

ADVANTAGES
Concrete and Plasters admixed with PERMA Plast-O-Proof exhibit the following advantages:
1) Durability is increased due to air entrainment.
2) Segregation, bleed and thereafter honeycombing is  prevented.
3) Surface finish of concrete and plasters improved.
4)  Attack by Sulphates and Chlorides from ground  water in coastal areas is well tolerated.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Add Plast - O - Proof in concrete and mortar along with water at the rate of 100 ml per bag of cement. In demanding situations the dosage could be doubled.

ACTION
Plast - O - Proof functions in the following manner :
1) In Concrete:
a) It disrupts the capillary network within the concrete mass which could conduct water through concrete.
b) It significantly reduces water demand to bring down W/C ratio in the range of 0.45 which generally represents a sound concrete.
2 In Mortar: 
a) It reduces the possibility of shrinkage cracks.
b) It improves adhesive and tensile properties of mortar.

 CAUTION
A good water proof concrete or plaster is achieved by good construction practices. Precautions taken to achieve the goals include:
1) Proper mix design.
2) Selection of good aggregates, sand and cement
3) Adhering to W/C ratio in the range of 0.45.
4) Proper mixing, placing and curing.
5) Use of a good integral water proofer.
It is emphasised that integral water proofers and plasticisers only help in making a good concrete better. Hence observance of good construction practices is of utmost importance for achieving the overall goal.

Dosage    100 ml per bag of cement.
In demanding situations dosage can  be doubled.

Perma Plast - O - Proof is available in packs of 100ml, 1, 2 Litres, 20 litres and 210 litres.
SHELF LIFE
Two Years from the date of manufacture if stored in original packing.
